About the Author
Tara Shuman lives with her husband Brian and their two children Teddy and Annabel in Canton, Massachusetts. Brian is a public high school teacher and a varsity boys hockey coach.
Tara recently "retired" as an attorney to return to her true love -- education. She teaches English Language Arts and history at a public high school. In her free time, Tara continues to blog about life, love, loss, and cancer. She looks forward to writing more books including novels and children's books.
Tara volunteers for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (where she was treated) and has been a member of the Patient and Family Advisory Council since June 2013.
Tara enjoys speaking at conferences and other gatherings. She was the keynote speaker at Dana-Farber's 2014 Annual Young Adult Conference and she also lead a workshop at the 2014 Friends of Mel Art of Living Conference.
Tara is the proud founder of Writing Saves Lives, a non-profit organization whose mission is to promote writing as a way to cope and heal. While the organization is in its infant stages, Tara works with a dedicated board of directors who are as excited as she is about growing the organization in the coming years.
